Stan and I have been retired now for seven years and still find opportunities to serve the Lord. Stan is a greeter on Sunday mornings. Marian supervises the missionary closet and also teaches a woman's Bible study. Together we serve on the Mission Committee. Our highlight this year was our 50th wedding anniversary celebration which our children hosted at our church (Silverdale Baptist in Silverdale, WA). Then in July, we all gathered at the seashore for three memorable days. We have four children and 14 grandchildren.

Helen and I were married on Apr.21, 1940. In 1946, with already two children, I felt led to attend Steinbach Bible School. After graduation we went out into mission work in Saskatchewan. By this time we had four children. In 1952 we came back to Steinbach and the next year, 1953, we lived at Steeprock Bay (Mafeking) MB, where I was employed as store clerk and missionary. In 1954 I accepted the job of administrator at the Mennonite Invalid Home in Steinbach. After about three years here I became the field man for the Western Gospel Mission. In 1959 we started a church planting assignment at Portage la Prairie for the EMC. In 1963 I became the editor of the newly founded EMC Messenger. In 1965 after about a year in Winnipeg where I took classes at MBBC, we moved back to Steinbach. In 1987 I retired from the EMC Board of Education and Publication where I was employed, which included editor of the Messenger, after having been editor for 25 years. Since 1995 we have been living in Woodhaven Manor in Steinbach. We are thankful to the Lord for His constant care over us.
