We are at a butterfly ‘resort’ today, resting, have a farewell supper tonight, and then fly to Miami tomorrow morning. All the best, we look forward to seeing you all soon.
Well it is Sunday night and we've had another full day. We worshiped with the church group in Villa Nueva this morning, and had opportunity to sing a couple of songs and share a testimony (Karen shared). Ernie was asked to preach, and did so in Low German. We had lunch with the youth at the church then played volleyball and soccer till about 3 p.m.
Well, it is Saturday today. We are going to visit an Ayure village this morning and then tour a women's shelter for Mennonite women. After that we'll go to the Ibnius community for a while.
We just finished our 5 days of billeting and made the trip out to Pailon this afternoon. Students did well at the billets and have many stories to tell. We are having a mini-debrief sharing time after supper tonight to hear some of what they've learned.
Today we had an introduction to the Global Discipleship Network and to the local house church movement in the morning and early afternoon, then supper and a service with some of the house church people in the evening. All in all a good day. Tomorrow we go to the seminary and then students head to their billets for the next 5 days. We appreciate your prayers.
Tuesday morning we had an orientation into the work of SAM (South American Mission) here in Bolivia. In the afternoon we went to an orphanage in the city (the same one our students visited in 2004). We sang for the kids, handed out popsicles, and then played a number of games with them. At 4pm we went to MCC and the Menno Centre for an orientation into their work there.
Everyone is doing well. The team has orientation with SAM (South American Mission) this morning, and are heading to an orphanage at 1pm and then to MCC at 4pm.
We are having a great day. Prof. Ernie taught the adult S.S. class, a number of students went to help with the kids classes, and other students went to the youth class, where they were able to share their testimonies with the others in that class. We had lunch at the church, then played soccer and volleyball till 5:30 p.m.
