Director of Recruitment & Fundraising

Purpose

The Director of Recruitment and Fundraising is responsible for the management and carrying out of Prairie Christian Academy Society’s recruiting and fundraising initiatives.  The Director of Recruitment and Fundraising carries out his/her work in a manner consistent with the Society’s Mission, Values & Vision and within a framework that emphasizes Christ-centred practices and fiscal responsibility. 

Accountability

The Director of Recruitment and Fundraising is appointed by the Prairie Christian Academy Society Board and reports to both the Society’s Executive Director (everyday issues) and the PCA Society’s Facilities Committee. 

Authority

The Director of Recruitment and Fundraising has full authority to carry out the Society’s vision for recruitment and fund development; to make expenditures on behalf of the Society where directly or indirectly approved by the Board; to be a spokesperson of the Society where needed. 

Reporting

The Director of Recruitment and Fundraising reports to the Society’s Executive Director on a weekly basis and/or as required and will generally include a status update relating to fundraising and recruitment efforts and results. 

Duties & Responsibilities

Recruitment

  • Develop and implement strategy to secure increased awareness and participation of alumni, donors, prospective students and their families.
  • Work with the PCA Society Executive Director to promote, market and advertise upcoming recruitment events.
  • Build and maintain long-term recruitment relationships.
  • Assist in raising awareness of Prairie Christian Academy at both the local and non-local level.
  • Organize recruitment events and activities such as Kindergarten Preview, Open Houses, Grandparent’s Day.
  • Work together with PCA Secondary Main Office to plan His Singers tours.
  • Assist PCA Schools with coordination of campus visits for prospective students.
  • Provide oversight to further recruitment initiatives

Fundraising

  • Promote, market and advertise upcoming fundraising events & opportunities to donate.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with donors & alumni.
  • Increase funds through researching and targeting grants that would be sympathetic to the vision of Prairie Christian Academy.
  • Oversee the “Growing the Vision” Capital Campaign.
  • Assist in developing an annual communications plan that includes all “touch points” (correspondence, visits, events, etc.).
  • Organize fundraising & alumni events and activities such as class reunions, Anniversary celebrations, Open Houses.
  • Coordinate greeting from PCAS Board at Grad along with offering details.
  • Recruit, develop and give guidance to an Advisory Board.
  • Participate in meetings as required by the PCAS Board and PCAS Building Committee
  • Coordinate campus visits and on-site tours for donors and alumni. 

In order to carry out these duties and responsibilities, the Director of Recruitment and Fundraising will be expected to spend approximately half their time ‘on the road’ or ‘in the field’.

Position Requirements

  • Relevant post-secondary degree.
  • Strong Bible-based acumen.
  • A minimum of 3 years related experience at a non-profit organization.
  • A high standard of ethical practices and accountability.
  • Excellent people skills, including the ability to work with a Board, leaders within a school setting, students and parents.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated computer competency.
  • The ability to professionally represent and interpret the PCA Society, PCA schools and fundraising campaigns.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate programs, initiatives and operations.
  • Work independently and in a team setting.
  • Class 5 Driver’s License (minimum)
