Campus Buzzing As New Semester Begins
Old friends reunited. New friends introduced. Classes started. Textbooks purchased. Auditions underway. Dorm rooms unpacked.
The smell of a new school year penetrated the SBC hallways this week!
Students were welcomed to campus on Monday, September 6th. Dorm students moved in throughout the day, and the evening commenced with an all-student, all-staff, and all-parent barbeque.
Welcome activities continued throughout the week as students finished up last-minute registration details on Tuesday and officially began classes on Wednesday. On Thursday, staff and students were once again treated to a barbeque supper, this time off-campus.
"Welcome Week" produced countless smiles, as the excitement of ushering in another school year overflowed onto faces.
“My first week back (at school) was awesome!” explained third-year returning student, Braden Friesen. “I got to see lots of old friends as well as seeing new faces…and learning who will be on our hockey team!”
There was equal enthusiasm as students began a new semester of classes.
Another returning student, Derek Penner, revealed, “I am really excited for the classes I have this year. I believe they will be interesting and relevant. I’m looking forward to seeing what God has in store this year!”
Both staff and students anticipate a meaningful and productive semester ahead. If kick-off week is any indication, the 2010-11 school year will be outstanding!
