Why Should I Go to SBC?

Last spring, I went out for supper with Alex, who was graduating from high school and thinking about his future. He had had the opportunity to go straight into university on an Engineering scholarship. The chance for a subsidized and immediate start to his professional development was very compelling.
As we chatted, he interrupted our conversation at one point to challenge me.
"You think EVERYONE should go to SBC, don't you?" "Yes!" I responded as if it was a no-brainer. "Well not necessarily SBC, but some Bible College or discipleship school."
As a Christian, your calling in life is to be a missionary wherever you are. As a student, employee, or entrepreneur, you will always value being "prepared to give a reason for the hope that lies within, doing so with gentleness and respect" (1 Peter 3:15).
Many university graduates ultimately end up in careers which are not directly associated with their educational background. However, every Bible College graduate can be absolutely certain that they will end up in a calling which will leverage their ability to understand and describe their faith.
I left Alex alone to think about it. In August, he informed me he was coming to SBC!
